Sales Copilot, explained: an autonomous SDR that lives inside your operations stack
Why we built an SDR-style agent that answers every lead in 60 seconds, qualifies conversationally, and drafts the next move — without ever auto-signing or auto-committing money.
Why an autonomous SDR matters
The single biggest leak in an SME’s sales funnel isn’t qualification — it’s response time. A lead who waits 10 minutes for a reply is 4x less likely to convert than one who hears back in under a minute. And nobody’s monitoring the inbox at 9pm.
Sales Copilot is the system that closes that gap. It answers every new lead in under 60 seconds via WhatsApp, email or your web form, qualifies them conversationally, books meetings, drafts replies you can approve in one tap — and only commits money or signs when you say so.
What ‘autonomous SDR’ means in practice
Four jobs, all auditable, all gated by per-org autonomy switches:
1. Instant reply (under 60 seconds)
An inbound message hits the webhook. We stamp it on a Lead, run it through the brand-voice prompt with the lead’s actual message, and either auto-send (if auto_reply_inbound is on AND we’re outside quiet hours) or queue for one-tap approval.
2. Conversational qualification
Once the lead replies, the qualifier agent reads the whole thread and fills BANT — Budget, Authority, Need, Timeline — by asking one question at a time. Not a chatbot script. Not a form. Just the next question the human would have asked.
3. Pipeline honesty
Every open deal gets scored nightly. Stalling deals (silent for 7+ days, low win probability) get a drafted recovery message in the queue — a short, specific ‘still on for this?’ line, never a guilt-trippy ‘just checking in’.
4. You stay in control
Every money-related action — quotes, invoices — starts in DRAFT. Nothing reaches the customer until you approve. Plain-language autonomy switches let you dial up automation as you trust the system.
What it isn’t
Not a chatbot. Not a ‘set it and forget it’ send-bot. Not an autonomous closer. The system makes the operator faster; it doesn’t replace their judgment on anything that touches money.
