Stock Intelligence: how Bint OS spots a runaway SKU before you stock out
A short tour of the Stock Intelligence panel — how the AI classifies SKUs as RUNAWAY / STEADY / SLOW / DEAD and auto-drafts purchase orders for the ones about to run out.
The problem: silent stockouts
Most SME stock systems tell you what’s IN. They don’t tell you what’s about to BE OUT. By the time the reorder-point alert fires, the fastest movers are already empty — and the slow movers still have months of dust on them.
The Bint OS approach
For every tracked SKU we compute 30-day sales velocity from the POS movement history. Then we classify:
- RUNAWAY — selling >2 units/day OR less than a week of cover. Reorder now.
- STEADY — healthy turnover, on the radar.
- SLOW — moving but <0.3 units/day. Hold smaller batches.
- DEAD — zero sales in 30 days. Discount or discontinue.
One click to a PO
On the Stock Intelligence page, when there’s at least one RUNAWAY SKU, an ⚡ Auto-draft POs button appears. Click it: the system groups runaway SKUs by their most-recent supplier (from your purchase history), creates one draft Purchase per supplier with the suggested reorder quantity, and drops you on the draft list to review.
The AI layer
On top of the deterministic classifier, Claude reads the full inventory snapshot and writes a prioritised ‘what to do this week’ action list — six bullets, always actionable, never ‘consider tracking your stock better’ fluff.
